Jean Grea, vocalist MeLa Machinko and RJD2 teamed up to produce some heat!
“Bridge” is the second leak from the upcoming Year of The Blacksmith Community mixtape, presented by Talib Kweli & Blacksmith Music. This mixtape will feature different artists within the Blacksmith community collaborating with other producers around the world. I don’t know if there’s a release date yet, but what I do know is that Jean is also working on a new solo album herself, called “Cake or Death”. Her album will drop in the spring of 2011.

Dunham Records, an imprint of Daptone Records, is preparing to release the debut album of soul singer Charles Bradley. The Brooklyn raised soul singer will be joined by the great Menahan Street Band, also known for their song “Make the Road by Walking”, sampled by Jay-Z on the track “Roc Boys”.
Charles Bradley’s LP, No Time For Dreaming, will hit the stores on January 28th 2011.
Until then enjoy his single “The World”, ..”An entirely apropos theme for our anxious times”.

Here are some sweet visuals for Ethan Goldhammer’s instrumental “Maxin“.
This video marks the first appearance of The Royal Tenor Bombs (E. Goldhammer, A. Hachen, B. Alderman) and is the second release of a video EP/Album Ethan’s putting out. Don’t skip this one!
Shout out to this upcoming producer from my home town Uden, word!
Recently Sam dropped his “Expression Crash” beattape and he definitely suprised us with this one! His beattape contains 19 beats which so now and then turn into “Fly Lo” inspired arrangements combined with some nice “Samiyam” like sawtooth waves. Nothing wrong with that! The only thing I want to add is that maybe he was a bit too enthusiastic for bringing out that many beats, because a little more variation in his sounds would be welcome. Anyway, we think this cat has great potentials and we’re looking out to here some of his future productions. Take a listen and download his beattape here.
About a month ago Olivier DaySoul and Oddisee released their “Mr. Saint Louis” EP, including instrumental and acapella versions of each track. Clearly they wanted to give us the opportunity to remix this EP. Since then I was kinda looking forward to see some remixes popping up on the internet and last week it did.
Dutch producer Duke Hugh dropped “St. Louis to Madrid“. This EP includes 4 interesting remixes variating from Broken to Dub and from Future Soul to Bossatronic. Enjoy this freebie!
